Liberty Mutual Insurance (LMI), the commercial lines division of Liberty Mutual Insurance Europe Limited (LMIE), is revving up its sponsorship of UK motor sport by increasing the number of drivers it supports.
In addition to Alex Brundle
and Sam Brabham, whom the company sponsored last year, LMI has added double
British karting champion 15-year old Toby Sowery, 18-year-old Formula 3 driver
Tom Blomqvist and rally driver James Slaughter to its roster, bringing the
total number of LMI-sponsored drivers to five for 2012.
The sponsorships allow LMI to
promote its brand on vehicles, driver suits and helmets. Some races will
be televised and there will be opportunities for LMI to take its brokers to
view some of the races at major UK circuits.
LMIE’s chief executive Sean
Rocks said: “We were thrilled to be able to sponsor Alex and Sam last year, in
what turned out to be good learning experiences for them both. This year we
want to continue and place a really strong emphasis on helping promising
drivers at the beginning of their careers, which is why we’ve got behind Toby
and Tom as well.
“These sponsorships fit
perfectly with our provision of liability cover for both motorsport teams and
circuits and offers us lots of opportunities to promote our brand.”
