Biography
In each of the six years Toby has raced karts, he has proven
himself to be not just a winner, but also a champion. His level of success has been quite remarkable, despite racing on a modest
budget. In 2010 and 2011 Toby demonstrated his ‘finesse at the wheel’, as
one leading team owner observed, combined with what leading sports coaches call
‘fire in the stomach, ice in the brain.’
These latter two qualities were superbly illustrated when he overturned a point’s deficit in the last round of the 2011 season, to win the Super One Junior TKM title. Just a fortnight before, he had kept his nerve after a snapped chain had robbed him of an almost certain victory. Forced to start from the back of the grid in the pre-final, Toby drove through the field to claim an eventual 2nd place and ultimately the Easykart Junior title.
In 2012 Toby has focused predominantly on his GCSEs however he still found time to win the Junior Rotax Kartmasters Grand Prix and with it earned himself the privilege of racing with the highly-sought after GP Plate. In September 2012 Toby begins his first term on the MSA Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence NVQ at Loughborough University.

Toby will also spend time at
various race circuits on work experience learning about different sides of
motorsport, before fulfilling his ambition to race in a single seater series next
year.
His natural speed, kart control and tough mentality have won him many admirers.
Toby is continuing to develop a reputation for possessing a prodigious talent.
Whatever circumstances he finds himself in, whether it is at the back but still
with everything to fight for, or leading imperiously from the front, he is
emerging as the sort of driver people would pay money to watch.
